The Trinity (Part 2)

Are God, the Son, and the Holy Spirit the Same Person? Scriptural Answers eLearning Article

Consider the example of a teacher and their students. Imagine that some students still have doubts, even after the teacher gives additional explanations. What could they do? They might seek clarification from another teacher on the same topic. If the second teacher confirms what the first one said, most students would likely feel more confident in the explanation (Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania, 2005, pp. 203-204).

Similarly, if you're unsure about what the Bible writer John meant regarding the relationship between Jesus and Almighty God, you could consult another Bible writer for more insight. Take Matthew, for instance. When discussing the end of this system, he quotes Jesus as saying: "Concerning that day and hour, nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father." (Matthew 24:36) How do these words confirm that Jesus is not Almighty God? (Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania, 2005, pp. 203-204)

Matthew 24:36, Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father.” (Matthew 24:36, New World Translation)

In Matthew 24:36, Jesus says that the Father knows more than the Son. If Jesus were part of Almighty God, He would share the same knowledge as the Father. This indicates that the Son and the Father cannot be equal. Some might argue, "Jesus had two natures, and here He is speaking as a man." But even if that were the case, what about the holy spirit? If it were part of the same God as the Father, why doesn’t Jesus mention that the holy spirit also shares the Father’s knowledge? (Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania, 2005, pp. 203-204)

Matthew 24:36, Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father.” (Matthew 24:36, New World Translation)
